Havican named Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer

Todd Maki, President and CEO of First Bank, said in a press release that he is pleased to announce the addition of Joe Havican to the bank’s team..

Havican has joined First Bank as it’s Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer, in its Marquette office.

According to the release, Havican has worked in commercial lending for 20 years, establishing business relationships in the Marquette and surrounding areas.

Havican graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Finance degree and is very involved in the community.

He is the past Rotary President and is a Rotary member; he has been the treasurer for the Marquette Tennis Association for 37 years.

Havican said he looks forward to helping his former and new customers with their commercial lending needs. Joe lives in Marquette with his wife Stefanie.

Zyburt promotion announced

First Bank, Upper Michigan has announced that it has added one Marquette County resident to its staff and promoted another.

Bank officials announced the promotion of Cole Zyburt to Trust Officer.

According to First Bank, Zyburt is a 2017 cum laude graduate of Northern Michigan University’s School of Business. He interned with First Bank’s Investment Management Group prior to graduating and assisted in the consolidation of Northern Michigan Bank & Trust’s Trust Department and First Bank’s Investment Management Group.

Zyburt spent three years working at another financial institution before returning to First Bank’s Trust and Investments in December of 2020.

His current responsibilities include portfolio construction and management, trust administration and estate settlement.

In his spare time, the Marquette native enjoys spending time outdoors, hunting, and fishing. Zyburt resides in Negaunee Township with his girlfriend, Kristen.
