IRON MOUNTAIN – Kingsford High School senior Benjamin Trevillian has been selected by his school as this year’s National Society Daughters of the American Revolution “Good Citizen Representative” for the Onagomingkway Chapter. He is the son of Kevin and Sara Trevillian of Breitung Township.

The DAR Good Citizenship Award is presented to one student at KHS based on the qualities of dependability (truthfulness, loyalty, and punctuality), service (cooperation, courtesy, and consideration of others), leadership (personality, self-control, and ability to assume responsibility), and patriotism (unselfish interest in family, school, community, and nation) to an outstanding degree. Ben exemplifies these qualities.

He has been a member of the KHS Student Council all four years in high school and is currently serving as president. He has participated in varsity football, tennis, and basketball and served as team captain on each of these sports teams at varying levels.

He is also a member of Key Club, SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions), Flivver Family Club, and yearbook, where he serves as editor. Trevillian has accumulated approximately 300 hours of community service and is actively involved in parish activities at St. Mary Queen of Peace Church.

As a sophomore, he was one of four students selected to attend the MYLead conference. After attending the leadership conference, he has taken on the role of Regional Delegate for the Northern/Saginaw Division. His leadership experience is quite impressive. He is an excellent role model who is positive, hardworking, and kind to others.

“On behalf of Kingsford High School and Breitung Township Schools, we are pleased to recognize and honor Ben Trevillian as the Kingsford High School Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizen Award winner,” stated David Lindbeck, principal of Kingsford High School. “Ben’s teachers, classmates, and the Kingsford High School administration have recognized him to possess all of those qualities at the highest level. Kingsford High School is proud of Ben, his accomplishments, and the lasting footprint he will leave behind after graduation. We are honored to recognize Ben as this year’s DAR Good Citizenship representative.”
