ESCANABA — A candidate running for a seat on the Delta County Board of Commissioners has permanently suspended her campaign.

Democrat Meredith Seppanen has pulled out of the race. She was running for the contested seat in District 4.

“Meredith will remain an active and contributing member of the Delta Dems and has joined my campaign team to continue her service to our party,” said Chris Lopez, Delta County Dems treasurer and a candidate for the Michigan House of Representatives.

Two candidates remain in the District 4 county board race — Independent Kelli Van Ginhoven and incumbent Republican David Moyle.

Lopez said the Delta Dems are supporting Van Ginhoven in the race.
