In my junior year of high school, I decided to try out the golf team. I had played in a youth league when I was younger but hadn’t played much since then.

Little did I know that in one short season, I would fall in love with a sport I can enjoy for the rest of my life.

Going into my senior year, I made the easy decision to join the team again for my last year in school.

At Wawonowin, our team was able to utilize the course and driving range to practice for free which allowed me to progress quicker than I thought I could. Being able to hit a bucket of balls at the range, practice putting, and play a round of golf was one of the most enjoyable things I ever had the chance to do after school.

Wawonowin Country Club offers the public and its members so many options so that you can improve, enjoy, and compete in the sport of golf. Some key features include its clubhouse bar/restaurant, driving range, pro shop, wedding/banquet center, and 18-hole course.

Making a tee time is as easy as calling the pro shop or scheduling it on their website which can be found in the GINCC member directory. In addition to golf, Wawonowin offers a rentable space for weddings, banquets, and much more.

There are regular golf lessons and other calendar events. Some of these events are competitions, lessons, banquets, and even trivia. While at the golf course you will be able to utilize the driving range, play a round of golf, and then go to the clubhouse to get a meal, or a drink of any kind.

The pro shop has all of your golfing needs, allowing you to buy tees, balls, shirts, hats, and much more. Whatever you may need, Wawonowin is sure to provide you with assistance. Along with many other services, Wawonowin allows locker rentals, club storage and cleaning, and cart storage for a fee.

If golf is not your sport, they provide a social membership which allows you to hang out at the bar/restaurant and enjoy the view along with the many social aspects at Wawonowin. No matter your interests, Wawonowin will surely provide you with fun, outdoor entertainment.

One of the most rewarding feelings is going out after a couple weeks of practice and getting a new personal best score. This is one of the many possibilities when golfing.

You will want to enjoy the sun while hanging out with your friends over a game of golf. Then you will want to get better and better. The only way to do this is to keep going out and having fun.
