MARQUETTE — The Michigan Insurance Hall of Fame honored five outstanding insurance industry leaders, legends, and innovators at the annual induction ceremony this past October at the Crowne Plaza Lansing West.

One of those inductees was Scott White, chief executive officer at VAST.

“I am truly honored to receive this special recognition. To join this group of elite men and women in the industry is very humbling,” White said in an announcement.

White has been active in the insurance industry since 1988. He has served as a member and chairperson for many state, regional and national insurance company advisory councils and has served on a number of community boards in Marquette County.

He is also a past board member for the Small Business Administration of Michigan and has been featured in various industry publications including: Rough Notes Magazine, Independent Agent Magazine, and Auto Owners Insurance Company’s “The Emblem.”

The Michigan Insurance Hall of Fame was established at Olivet College in 1994 as a way to “pay tribute to individuals who have made a significant impact on the ability of the Michigan insurance and risk management industry to serve the public,” officials said in the announcement.

The Insurance Hall of Fame represents leaders and/or innovators who have made significant contributions in five areas: product/service development, education, recruiting new participants, legislative and regulatory activity and exemplary service in the Michigan Insurance industry.
