9 new positive cases in Dickinson County

Local health officials Monday reported nine more confirmed COVID-19 positives in Dickinson County along with almost 50 recovered from the virus since its last update Thursday.

In a Facebook post Monday morning, the Dickinson-Iron District Health Department also listed seven new positives and four recovered cases in Iron County.

The agency had Dickinson County at 2,380 confirmed positives and 328 probable cases, with 2,460 recovered, 72 deaths and 176 cases still active. For Iron County, the DIDHD had 965 confirmed cases and 69 probables, with 907 recovered, 48 deaths and 79 active cases.

For the Upper Peninsula, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ coronavirus website Monday added 38 new confirmed positives since Saturday: seven in Baraga County; six in Delta County; four in Marquette and Gogebic counties; three in Iron, Menominee and Houghton counties; two in Dickinson, Mackinac and Chippewa counties; and one each in Ontonagon and Luce counties.

Using only the state’s figures, the Upper Peninsula as of Monday has had 19,523 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 417 deaths.

Across the U.P., the MDHHS data site Monday had Keweenaw County at 142 confirmed cases and 31 probable, and one confirmed death and one probable death; Luce County, 188 confirmed cases and 209 probable, one confirmed death and one probable death; Alger County, 319 confirmed, 189 probable and two deaths, four probable; Schoolcraft County, 320 confirmed cases and 67 probable, four deaths and one probable; Ontonagon County, 400 confirmed, 57 probable and 20 deaths, one probable;

Mackinac County, 413 confirmed cases and 229 probable, three deaths; Baraga County, 626 confirmed cases, 119 probable and 36 deaths; Iron County, 961 confirmed cases and 67 probable, 42 deaths and nine probable; Gogebic County, 1,018 confirmed cases and 360 probable, 22 deaths and 28 probable; Chippewa County, 1,053 confirmed cases and 1,370 probable, and 28 deaths, five probable; Menominee County, 1,762 confirmed cases, 318 probable and 39 deaths, two probable; Dickinson County, 2,372 confirmed cases and 326 probable, 59 deaths and 15 probable; Houghton County, 2,478 confirmed cases, 602 probable, 32 deaths and eight probable; Delta County, 3,279 confirmed cases and 665 probable, 71 deaths and 19 probable; and Marquette County, 4,192 confirmed cases, 799 probable and 57 deaths, one probable. State numbers are updated almost daily but can lag behind local reports or have other discrepancies.

The MDHHS on Monday posted 2,716 confirmed new coronavirus positives in Michigan since Saturday for a total to date of 865,349. The state Monday had 33 deaths attributed to the virus over the two-day period to reach 18,239.

For Wisconsin counties in the region, the state Department of Health Services’ COVID-19 data site Monday had no changes.

The DHS on Monday had Marinette County with 4,142 confirmed cases, 458 probable cases and 66 deaths, four probable deaths; Vilas County, 2,249 confirmed, 146 probable and 39 deaths, two probable; Forest County, 960 confirmed, 79 probable and 23 deaths, three probable; Iron County, 577 confirmed, 119 probable and 21 deaths, 19 probable; and Florence County, 446 confirmed, 55 probable and 12 deaths. As in Michigan, state numbers are updated daily but can lag behind local reports or have other discrepancies.

Wisconsin added 205 new positives Monday for a total of 603,303 confirmed COVID-19 cases to date. The state listed no new deaths Monday to remain at 6,904.
