UP has 24 more virus cases
IRON MOUNTAIN — State data Wednesday showed a total of 24 new confirmed COVID-19 positives and no new deaths in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, as the pace of new cases continues to slow.
Across the border, Wisconsin health officials listed a new coronavirus-related death in Marinette County, which also leads the region in COVID-19 positives with nearly 4,000 confirmed.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ COVID-19 data site Wednesday indicated eight new confirmed cases in Houghton County; five in Gogebic County; three in Keweenaw County; two each in Dickinson, Delta and Marquette counties; and one each in Baraga, Ontonagon and Mackinac counties; Chippewa County’s count was reduced by one.
Using only the state’s figures, the Upper Peninsula as of Wednesday has had 16,360 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 383 deaths.
