Pence visits Marinette Marine

MARINETTE, Wis. (AP) — Vice President Mike Pence is telling workers at a Wisconsin shipyard that President Donald Trump is working to increase military spending while Democrats are spending all their time on impeaching him.

Pence visited Marinette Marine on Wednesday. He said the president is trying to create a 350-ship Navy and the company will play a role in building it. But he says Democrats are spending all their time on impeachment rather than funding national defense initiatives.

He urged the crowd to pressure Democrats into passing Trump’s trade deal with Mexico and Canada, saying it will boost Wisconsin cheese and milk exports.

Wisconsin Democratic Party spokesman Philip Shulman said Trump has been a disaster for working people and hasn’t addressed any of their issues such as health care and prescription drug costs.
