MENOMINEE — Police have recovered the body of Kristin Hope Gromoske, a missing 17-year-old from Menominee after conducting a search of the waters near Stephenson Island, according to the Menominee City Police Department.

The recovery occurred around 3 p.m. Tuesday and was done by the Menominee department, in conjunction with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, the Marinette County Sheriff’s Department and the Marinette City Police Department, officials said in a press release.

The incident is currently under investigation and more information will be forthcoming, police said this morning.
