LAC LA BELLE — A section of the Keweenaw off-road vehicle route between Lac La Belle and Powder House Road in Keweenaw County is closed temporarily.

Logging operations have created unsafe conditions for shared trail use. The route is closed beginning 2 miles east of Lac La Belle Road and continuing along the South Mandan Loop for about 10 miles.

There is no re-route option available for connecting to Copper Harbor. Forestry operations are expected to be completed in early December in time for the upcoming snowmobile season.

Trail users are asked to adhere to the closure. Once the forestry operations are completed the trail will be reopened to the public.
