Baraga president re-elected to MAM

BARAGA — The mayors of Auburn, Baraga and Fremont have been re-elected to serve on the Michigan Association of Mayors Board of Directors.

Auburn Mayor Lee Kilbourn, Baraga Village President Wendell Dompier and Fremont Mayor Jim Rynberg all received three-year terms to the MAM board during its meeting Sept. 26 in Detroit at the 2019 Michigan Municipal League Convention.

The Michigan Association of Mayors is the official nonpartisan organization of Michigan’s chief elected officials. Representing 136 Michigan communities, MAM works to assist the chief elected officials of cities, townships and villages; advance the various interests and operations of communities represented by its members and all Michigan communities; promote cooperation among communities statewide; and advocate local interests at the state and federal level.

During the same meeting, the MAM membership also selected Port Huron Mayor Pauline Repp as the 2019 MAM Board President and Ferrysburg Mayor Rebecca Hopp as Vice President.

Other board members are, East Jordan Mayor Russell Peck. Hastings Mayor David Tossava, Zeeland Mayor Kevin Klynstra and Eastpointe Mayor Suzanne Pixley.
