ATV crash leaves two men injured

IRON MOUNTAIN — Two men were injured as the result of an all terrain vehicle crash in Dickinson County Saturday evening.

The unidentified 26 and 29-year-old men were northbound on Carney Lake Road around 6:55 p.m. when their ATV lost control while negotiating a curve near Carney Lake Campground, according to a release from the Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post.

Both men were ejected as the vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree then rolled several times.

The driver was air lifted by helicopter from the scene to UP Health System-Marquette by Valley Med Flight, the release states. The passenger was transported to Dickinson Memorial Hospital by North Alert Ambulance, where he was treated for his injuries and later released.

The crash remains under investigation.
