WHAT’S DOWNTOWN/The Marq offers fresh, locally grown cuisine
We opened The Marq in April 2015 with one goal in mind: to share our passion for fresh, local food with our beloved hometown community.
How do we do it? It’s simple. We buy real food directly from people we know that grow, catch, or pick it. Why? Why hassle with the limited availability of local produce? Why update our menu after weekly trips to the farmers market? Because fresh food tastes better and is better for you. When food is frozen, processed, and shipped across the country it loses flavor and nutrients.
When you buy local, direct from farmers, the nutrients that come from the earth show up on your plate. Buying direct from Upper Peninsula farms, bakeries, and breweries bolsters the local economy and eliminates unnecessary packaging and shipping. Since our food is locally-sourced we offer what’s in season: vegetable-forward, lighter dishes in spring and summer and braised meats, root vegetables and hand-rolled pasta in fall and winter.
Food from scratch that’s good for our community, our carbon footprint and our bellies? That’s the mission of The Marq!
The Marq is open from 5-10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 5-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. For more information, call 906-273-2069 or visit www.marqrestaurant.com
