Together: Sanderson

MARQUETTE — Barbara Rae (Chelberg) Sanderson and Dr. Steven Max Sanderson, who reside in Marquette, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Aug. 4.

They married Aug. 4 1962 at Central Methodist Church in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. The ceremony was officiated by Reverend Carson.

Their attendants were Jane (Cole) Kraft, Linda (Otis) Fazzari, Patricia (Tobey) Chelberg, Randahl Sanderson (brother of the groom) and Lt General Retired Robert Chelberg, brother of the bride. The ring bearer was Kevin Cooper and the flower girl was Linda (Sanderson) Mitchell. The ushers were Wayne Welsh and John Charles.

Steven is a 1959 graduate of Sault Ste. Marie High School. He went on to study at Western Michigan University and Lake Superior State University. He continued his education at the University of Detroit where he received his doctorate in dentistry in 1966. After graduation he moved to Marquette where he ran a dental practice on North Third Street until he retired in 2004.

Barbara graduated from Sault Ste. Marie High School in 1961. She studied at Western Michigan University and Lake Superior State University and Northern Michigan University.

Dr Steven and Mrs Barbara Sanderson have three children, Jayne (Sean) LaRock of Marquette, Laura (Kevin) Nylund of Marquette and Steven (Barb) Sanderson D.C. of Marquette. They also have five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

They will celebrate their 60th anniversary with a dinner party in Marquette with family.
