Special service project

Local Girl Scouts make corsages for female veterans at Jacobetti Home

Senior Girl Scout members from Troop 5081 have undertaken a special service project in which they made red, white and blue wrist corsages for 11 female residents at the Jacobetti Home for Veterans. These corsages will help them accessorize for the patriotic events they celebrate at Jacobetti throughout the year. The troop adopted these women in August and each month, each troop level takes turns making special gifts for these them. Girl Scout alumnus Sarah Engle, owner of Forsberg’s — A New Leaf, donated the materials as well as her time to teach the girls how to make the corsages. She and her store manager, Anna LaBreche, are shown here with the completed corsages and the troop’s Senior Girl Scouts. From row from left are Bella Forslund, Natalie Deneau and Maija Parkkonen. Middle row from left are Savannah Neadow and Emma Spade. Back row from left are Anna LeBreche and Sarah Engle. (Photo courtesy of Marcia Parkkonen)
