MARQUETTE — The Marquette Area Blues Society is hosting a special night of the blues at the Ore Dock Brewing Company in Marquette with Chicago blues veteran Jon McDonald.

McDonald is the real deal when it comes to Chicago blues having spent 13 years as bandleader for Magic Slim & The Teardrops. He’s also worked alongside blues legends Hubert Sumlin, Koko Taylor, Junior Wells, and shared the stage with everyone from Taj Mahal and Paul Butterfield, to Rory Gallagher and Les Paul.

Marquette’s own Flat Broke Blues Band will be opening the show at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 13 in the Ore Dock Community Room.

The evening is a free all ages show and is presented by the Marquette Area Blues Society. Suggested donations of $10 will be accepted at the door.
