Blues Fest lineup announced

MARQUETTE —

The Marquette Area Blues Society has announced its lineup for the 18th Marquette Area Blues Fest, which will feature three days of “world-class blues on the shores of Lake Superior” from Sept. 2 to Sept. 4 at the Mattson Lower Harbor Park Maruqette, organizers said.

This year’s festival continues the traditional lineup of blues musicians, a wide variety of food vendors, a beer and wine tent, free workshops and assorted arts and crafts booths. The festival will kick off with a free concert on Friday night to thank the community for their continuing support, organizers said.

The lineup is as follows:

Sept. 2: Open to the public, free admission to show thanks to the Ore Dock Brewing Co. and Honor Credit Union

≤ 5 p.m., gates open

≤ 6 p.m., The Jimmys

≤ 8 p.m., Biscuit Miller

Sept. 3, ticketed event

≤ 1 p.m., Graham Brothers & Howlin’ Rhythm

≤ 2:30 p.m., Whiskey Ryan

≤ 4 p.m., Crossroads Resurrection

≤ 6 p.m., Tail Dragger with Johnny Burgin

≤ 8 p.m., Carolyn Wonderland

Sept. 4, ticketed event

≤ 1 p.m., Jake & the Fireside Blues Band

≤ 2:30 p.m., The Wallens

≤ 4 p.m., Jennifer Westwood & The Handsome Devils

≤ 6 p.m., Reverend Raven & The Chain Smokin’ Altar Boys with Westside Andy

≤ 8 p.m., Vanessa Collier

Gates open at noon on Sept. 3 and Sept. 4. All times are eastern. All times and artists are subject to change. The festival will take place rain or shine. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcomed for festival seating, but no carry-ins will be allowed, organizers said.

Jennifer Westwood & The Handsome Devils will also be the host band at the Post-Festival Party at the Ore Dock Brewing Co. at 114 West Spring St. in Marquette on the night of Sept. 4.

Advance weekend tickets are $60 for the weekend and are available through NMU Tickets online at nmu.universitytickets.com and via phone at 906-227-1032.

Prices are: $70 for an adult weekend pass, $40 for a one-day adult pass. $10 daily young adult tickets (ages 15-23) will be available at the gate, children 14 and under are free with paid adult.
