Local Scouts to host Join Nights

MARQUETTE — The Boy Scouts of America Bay-Lakes Council will hold a series of local events encouraging boys and girls to join scouting.

Cub Scout Packs across the Upper Peninsula are welcoming new families to join, by inviting children from kindergarten through fifth grade and their parents and guardians to participate in Cub Scouts’ Join Nights, a BSA press release states.

Scouting Join Nights for both boys and girls will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Messiah Lutheran Church for Marquette Pack 3395. Ishpeming Pack 3321 has two locations on Thursday, with events at Aspen Ridge Elementary School from 6-7 p.m. and Birchview Elementary School from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Marquette Pack 3308’s event is at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Father Marquette Academy. KI Sawyer Pack 3350 will host an event at Sawyer Elementary School at 6 p.m. Sept. 16 and Gwinn Pack 3333’s event will take place from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at the Gwinn United Methodist Church.

There are also two packs that serve boys in their communities, the release states. Join Night events will take place at the Lakeview Elementary School cafeteria at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 18 for Negaunee Pack 3346, and Harvey Pack 3361 will meet at St. Louis the King Catholic Church at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 24.
