‘Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding’

Event to take over Masonic Center Ballroom

MARQUETTE — Marquette County theater enthusiasts are invited to the wedding of the decade — the 1980s, that is. “Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding,” one of the longest-running shows in Off-Broadway history, is coming to the Masonic Center Ballroom in Marquette on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Audience-members will be guests at the traditional Italian-American wedding of Tony — played by Ethan Bott, and Tina — portrayed by Hanna Numinen, during this interactive event.

Chaos ensues when Tina’s ex-boyfriend, Michael, played by Tom Pascoe, shows up at the reception to profess his lasting love. The wedding singer, played by Brady Skewis, entertains the guests while they dine, dance and dissolve into laughter.

The show, in addition to being heartwarmingly funny, is also infused with nostalgia and immerses guests in a bigger-than-life experience.

In addition to the principal characters, the semi-scripted affair employs a number of well known and seasoned local performers to play members of the two feuding families joining in holy matrimony.

“It’s an unforgettable performance by some of Marquette’s most talented actors,” Director Leslie Parkkonen said.

An italian dinner and confections from Joe’s Cakes are all part of the affair, Parkkonen said, which starts at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Tickets are $35 per person or $65 per couple and can be purchased at the Masonic Building, Forsberg’s A New Leaf on Front Street in Marquette, or online at eventbrite.com.
