Local IT company adds staff

ESCANABA — DS Tech, a leading managed technology services provider, recently announced an increased commitment to providing high-quality technology offerings to the Marquette and Sault Ste. Marie areas, by hiring two local staff members in those cities.

Ben Wakkuri and Wade Wilding have now joined the DS Tech team, both filling the role of Network Technician.

Since 1976, DS Tech has been supporting the technology, phone, and cybersecurity needs of companies across the entire Upper Peninsula.

Recent growth has facilitated their ability to begin adding staff in cities beyond Escanaba.

“We’ve had customers in these areas for decades,” said Josh Marenger, Operations Manager of DS Tech, said in a news release. “The additions of Ben and Wade allow us to continue our tradition of providing fast, outstanding IT support in these cities. While much of our work can be done remotely, we commonly visit our customers in-person,and the U.P.is a large area.”

This increased staffing allows DSTech to operate more efficiently and respond faster than ever, by adding technician capacity and reducing travel time.

Wakkuri and Wilding joined the company with considerable experience, both coming from health care IT backgrounds. “Ben and Wade already had a security-first mindset, along with being highly focused on the customer experience. These traits align very well with our own values, so it was an easy choice to bring them on board,” Marenger said.

The two new staff will focus on on-site IT support in their respective cities, while also providing remote support to the entirety of DS Tech’s customer base.
