Segerstrom

MARQUETTE — Catholic Social Services of the Upper Peninsula is introducing its new foster care case manager, Kelsey Segerstrom. Segerstrom started with CSSUP on June 1, according to a news release from CSSUP. She graduated from Northern Michigan University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology. After graduation, Segerstrom moved to Appleton, Wisconsin, where she worked at ATTIC Correctional Services as a direct support staff in a transitional living home for women coming out of the prison system. Segerstrom also worked at Belin Psychiatric Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin, as a behavioral health specialist. During her time with Belin Psychiatric, Segerstrom helped implement treatment programs for children and youth patients.

“When Kelsey realized her passion was to help families of the Upper Peninsula, where she was born and raised, she moved home and began work at U.P. Kids as a direct family assistance worker,” the release states. “Kelsey is excited to continue working in child welfare with CSSUP as a foster care case manager. In this position, Kelsey will be working closely with U.P. families to help them reunify.”

“CSSUP’s mission is to be a light, working in the spirit of God’s universal love to nurture, stabilize, and strengthen the diverse families of the Upper Peninsula communities,” the release states. “To help fulfill this mission, CSSUP needs foster homes in every county in the Upper Peninsula.”
