MANISTIQUE — mBank announced in a press release the promotions of Katelyn Gage and Melissa Hopkins to branch manager roles.

Katelyn Gage started with mBank in June 2019 in her role as assistant branch manager of the Ishpeming Main and Negaunee branch locations. Gage earned a Bachelor of Science in communication studies with a minor in business administration from Northern Michigan University and has over 10 years of professional banking experience including consumer lending, business relationship banking and leadership development training. Gage is heavily involved in the community, serving as a member of Ishpeming/Negaunee Rotary

Club, Leadership Board Member of Marquette Hope and supporter of Negaunee Public Schools.

“I have successfully built rapport and trust with my clients and the community by focusing on the long-term customer relationships,” Gage said in the release. “With 10 years of experience serving a wide range of banking customers, I feel passionate about supporting my team by sharing all the knowledge and experience I have gained. I enjoy encouraging my team’s development and being able to witness their growth.”

“Katelyn brings such a positive energy to our team,” Tia Rodda, assistant vice president district manager for mBank’s Upper Peninsula location, said in the release. “She has demonstrated great leadership with our staff and provides excellence in customer service for our clients. I am excited to see how she continues to grow and add value to the mBank team.”

Melissa Hopkins joined the mBank team in April 2017 as a teller at the Eagle River, WI branch. With an educational background in law and accounting, Hopkins decided to pursue a career in banking after moving to the area from California just over three years ago. She has continued to grow in her career at mBank, moving from teller, to head teller, to assistant branch manager, to branch manager. During her time in California, Hopkins was a volunteer youth softball coach and was involved in her church’s Awana program and youth ministry. More recently, Hopkins has enjoyed volunteering along her Eagle River branch team with the Northwoods Share and other community events.

“I am so excited to be a part of the mBank team, because our company really stands behind their mission statement of focusing on the clients,” Hopkins said in the release. “To be able to enjoy going to work every day for a company that gives to their communities and cares for their customers in a genuine way is such a joy. I look forward to many more years with mBank and giving back to Eagle River and outlying communities to be the best that I can be for them.”

“Melissa has continually exemplified exceptional leadership skills and a willingness to learn and grow over the past three years here at mBank,” Chelsea Brandt, assistant vice president district manager overseeing mBank’s Wisconsin branches, said in the release. “Her promotion is a direct result of her hard work and dedication to the bank and I’m looking forward to watching her leadership continue to grow in her new role and the value it will bring our team and our customers.”
