MARQUETTE — The Skandia Community Day Parade and Festival will begin at 11 a.m. July 15 in downtown Skandia.

At 10 a.m., parade entries will register at Maple Lane Sports, 124 Kreiger Drive, and line up along North Kreiger. The parade will proceed south on Kreiger Drive to Skandia Community Park where there will be parade entry judging and ribbons for first, second and third places.

People are encouraged to enter the parade with any kind of motorized or non-motorized vehicle or float.

Food and entertainment will run from noon to 5 p.m. Food will be provided by the Skandia West Branch Township Fire Department and the DeVooght General Store, with beverages from the Skandia Lions Club (no carry-in drinks are requested).

There also will be adult and children’s games, bounce houses, local vendor booths, crafts and parade vehicles on display in the park. Call Skandia Lions Club President Ron Stenfors at 906-942-7662 for more information. The club will use the net proceeds to benefit the community.
