Marquette mom wins national working parent scholarship

MARQUETTE — Job-Applications.com announced that a Marquette mom was selected as the sole winner of the most recent round of the company’s national Working Parent Scholarship.
Job-Applications.com recognized the efforts of one student in the United States who balances the difficult tasks of parenthood, working and seeking a higher education. The national winner of this round’s $1,000 Working Parent Scholarship is Sarah Zyburt, 33, of Marquette.
Zyburt is currently a senior in her final semester at Northern Michigan University where she is pursuing a major in applied workplace management.
“I am honored and humbled to receive this scholarship. The critical financial support, as I work diligently to complete my degree, makes a world of difference for me as a single parent,” she said.

Applicants submit an essay on how to successfully balance parenthood, working and excelling in school.
To date, more than $40,000 has been awarded by the Ohio-based company to scholarship recipients.
