Kirkham Award winner announced

MARQUETTE — Dr. Amanda Johnson, PhD, Neuropsychologist in the Behavioral Health department at UP Health System-Marquette, has been chosen as the latest recipient of the Dr. Julianne Kirkham Award.

The quarterly award at recognizes exemplary employees of the support and ancillary departments of the hospital who clearly see their purpose and importance in supporting the care of our patients and our community, according to a hospital news release.

An excerpt from Dr. Johnson’s nomination read: “Dr. Amanda Johnson is a graceful, compassionate, knowledgeable, and empathetic provider. She is tirelessly working above and beyond to serve our community in a specialty that is so incredibly important, yet often undervalued. Her knowledge when it comes to neuropsychological diagnostics is prodigious and something she absolutely deserves to be recognized for.”

Named in honor of Dr. Julianne Kirkham, this award pays tribute to those who, just as Dr. Kirkham did, believe that our own lives become better as we help others’ lives become better.

Recipients of this award are chosen by a hospital committee on a quarterly basis based on nominations submitted by staff.
