Reed to succeed White as CEO at VAST

MARQUETTE — VAST CEO Scott White announced plans to step down as CEO, effective March 1.
Kelly Reed, a Marquette native, and currently a Risk Advisor at VAST, will succeed White.
White has been CEO of VAST since 1998. In addition to his duties as CEO, White has served on numerous industry advisory councils and was inducted into the Michigan Insurance Hall of Fame in 2021. He will officially retire from VAST in May.
Reed is a graduate of Northern Michigan University and has been with VAST for 15 years. He has worked in commercial insurance since his start and will continue with his book of business in the healthcare industry. Reed is also a part of the Michigan Agent Council for Accident Fund and is the Chair of the Enterprise Agent Council for ProAssurance, the third largest medical professional liability carrier in the world. His designations include Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Licensed Insurance Counselor (LIC), and Professional Workers Compensation Advisor (PWCA). Reed has also received industry recognitions including the ProAssurance Young Agent Award, a recipient of the “Young Guns” award by Insurance Business America, a finalist for “Broking Rising Star” by Insurance Insider, and most recently a finalist for the 2022 Health Care Power Broker.
