MARQUETTE — Kelly Gilligan will be showing her work as the guest artist for the month of August at the Zero Degrees Gallery on 525 N. Third St. in Marquette. There will be a meet and greet from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 29 at the gallery.

“The public is welcome to meet Kelly and see her wonderful work, as well as the great art in the rest of the gallery,” organizers said in an announcement.

Gilligan was born in Iron River and has been in Marquette since 2008. She graduated from the Metals program at NMU in 2011 and has been making and selling her jewelry since then. She works out of her home where she lives with her husband and two young children. She has been using a technique called saltwater etching to create textures and desi
