Houghton’s Marketing Department Inc. welcomes Fleming as creative director

HOUGHTON — Marketing Department Inc., has announced the addition of Brad Fleming as creative director. In his role, Fleming will join Dave Olsson, principal and VP of strategic services, to lead creative direction for clients.

“Every brand has a story to tell. I love to uncover those stories and tell them in memorable ways that help them grow business,” Fleming said in a news release.

As the agency continues to grow, the addition of Fleming adds “a new level of advertising, design, video, and image expertise,” according to MDI.

Fleming’s experience in developing and executing marketing campaigns that “exceed strategic marketing objectives aligns with the agency’s mission to grow business and energize brands,” officials said.

The addition of Fleming will “expand the agency’s creative strength to serve clients in industries like manufacturing, banking and health care,” according to MDI.

“With a passion for storytelling, Fleming has proven creative leadership experience with strength in developing high-performance and dedicated teams to grow and meet objectives,” MDI officials said in the release.

With over 35 years of agency experience, Fleming has developed and executed print, digital, and video campaigns for nationwide brands including State of Alaska Tourism, ConocoPhillips, Alyeska Pipeline, Kohler Plumbing, Kohler Engines/Generators, Eli Lilly, and Pfizer. Olsson said in the release: “We are very excited to bring another high-caliber creative thinker to our clients and the region. Brad’s talent is highly complementary to our team, and will help us further develop great marketing work to help our clients grow.”

Fleming has been working remotely and will be relocating to Houghton from Anchorage, Alaska with his wife, Julie.

As outdoor enthusiasts, they are eager to relocate to the Upper Peninsula to embrace the lifestyle.

Outside of work, Fleming enjoys hiking with his dog Lukas, kayaking, reading, playing guitar, and adventuring in his RV, NED.
