Free virtual program on birth, COVID-19

MARQUETTE — The final session of “A Healthy Start: Pregnancy, Birth, and Postpartum in the Time of COVID-19” will be held today at 6:30 pm via Zoom. This is the final of eight free virtual childbirth education classes presented by Doulas of Marquette as part of a COVID-19 Community Response Fund grant.

The program, designed for new and experienced parents at any trimester, will provide important information on preparing for labor, birth and postpartum, information on COVID-19, current hospital policies, and community resources available to expectant families.

A question and answer session will follow the presentation. Participants will also receive an extensive resource list and the “Supported Beginnings” newsletter for expecting and new parents. The program is limited to the first 25 individuals/couples to register.

Free registration has been made possible through a generous grant from the COVID-19 Community Response Fund through the Community Foundation of Marquette County and United Way of Marquette County.

The fund is working to help meet immediate needs in the community related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
