Van Riper set to host 2 Harvest Fest weekends in September

CHAMPION -- A spooky good time is ahead at Van Riper State Park's Harvest Fest weekends.
The event will take place over two weekends -- Sept. 11-13 and Sept. 18-20 -- and will feature trick-or-treating, hayrides, dancing, and campsite decorating contests.
"From ghostly dances to trick-or-treating, hayrides to campsite decorating contests, we will try to haunt you with all our events," reads a news release. "Be sure to bring the whole family, as there will be activities for everyone."
A detailed schedule will be released at a closer time to the event. Activities are for both campers and visitors.
During trick-or-treating, the modern campground will be closed to all vehicular traffic, so attendees are asked to plan accordingly.
