8-18 Media: ‘Wings of Fire’ books are worth diving into

Have you ever read the "Wings of Fire" book series? I highly recommend this series. Let me show you what it is all about! The series follows a dragon per book and shows their perspective. I recommend reading this series in order. It's easier to understand that way because when it shows a dragon's name, you will know who it is.

Let's start with this: the seven dragon tribes of Pyrrhia, the continent where books 1 to 10 take place. The first dragon tribe, MudWings. They are brown like the mud and can breathe fire, but only if warm enough. They live in the Mud Kingdom, and their queen is Queen Moorhen. Next up, SeaWings. They are excellent swimmers. Because of that, they can breathe underwater. They have phosphorescent scales that glow in the dark and are used to speak the SeaWing underwater language, Aquatic. They are usually blue and green, and very rarely light pink, purple, or black. They live in the Kingdom of the Sea. Their queen is Queen Coral.

The next one on the list is RainWings. These very special dragons are my favorite out of all the seven tribes. These dragons are like chameleons(fun fact: there is one named Chameleon), and they can change colors. They are tropical dragons and love to eat fruit, like raspberries, but also some strange fruit that we do not have on Earth. They are also known for their poisonous venom. They live in the Rainforest Kingdom. Their queen is Queen Glory. The next dragon tribe is the NightWings. They have mind-reading powers and future-seeing powers. NightWings also have scales that can be dark green, purple, or black. They can breathe fire. Where they live is unknown. They have to live somewhere, though! Their queen is also unknown, a closely guarded secret.

The next dragon tribe is SandWings. These dragons can have light yellow, tan, or even white scales. They have a venom barb at the end of their tail, and the only known antidote is the juice of the Brightsting cactus. They can also breathe fire.SandWings live in the Kingdom of Sand. Their last known queen was Queen Oasis, but she was killed by humans, known as scavengers in the dragon world. The new SandWing queen is to be decided between her 3 daughters, Burn, Blister, and Blaze. There is a war going on; each dragon tribe has allies with a SandWing. There are not enough dragon tribes for each tribe to have only one, so some tribes are teaming up.

Another dragon tribe to talk about is the IceWings. These dragons can breathe ice-cold frostbreath from their mouths to defend themselves from enemies. It can be deadly. IceWings live in the Ice Kingdom. Their queen is Queen Glacier. The last dragon tribe to talk about is SkyWings. These dragons are fire breathers, and they live in the sky kingdom. Queen Scarlet is their queen.

These are all the dragon tribes in "Wings of Fire." Now that you know all about the dragons in "Wings of Fire," you are all set to read them if you are interested! You can find these books in bookstores, regular stores, you could borrow them from a friend, or you could get them from the library. A note I have to say is that there are a bunch more things I wish I could tell you, but if you are new to reading the series, I want no spoilers, so I am leaving those parts out. I hope my article encourages you to start reading this wonderful book series!
