I’ve been homeschooling for three years and I am now in the fifth grade. My parents teach me. When you are homeschooled you can do lots of stuff during the hours that school kids are in school.
I get to do lots of sports. I love to do sports. It is like my gym class. I have baseball, skiing, dance, and tennis. I also do gymnastics. I really want to learn how to do a cartwheel. It is so much fun. I go to gymnastics around 11:00, a.m.. when other kids are at school. I’ve been doing gymnastics for a long time. I do downhill skiing as well.
You can do lots of different activities with other homeschoolers. Like HUB, which is a group of homeschoolers that get together to just play or do crafts or make a fort.
I also play piano. I played “Over The Rainbow.” It is one of my favorite songs. I played “Over the Rainbow” for one of my recital songs.
My favorite subject is science. I think astronomy would be fun. I like science because there is so much to learn about it. I also like art. There are so many things you can paint or draw. You can make bracelets or use clay, you can do perler beads or just sketch. My least favorite thing is math. I had to do math over the summer. Sometimes math is fun. There aren’t very many tests either. I also have History Club. We learn about Marquette’s history and then sometimes do a craft. I really like reading. I sometimes read at bedtime. I like reading “Wings of Fire.” I’ve only read the graphic novels for Wings of Fire. I also like reading mysteries. I like A to Z Mysteries.
I love to do not -back-to-school camping. Every year before we start school for the year, a bunch of homeschoolers go to Rippling River for not-back-to-school camping. I stay in a cabin. We go to the pool and have pizza. We play games like “Night at the Museum.” We stay for two nights.
I recently went to a King Tut exhibit. It was in Milwaukee. I learned about his life and some about his family. A bunch of homeschoolers went too. We stayed in a hotel. I also got a book about Egypt. We watched a bunch of videos about King Tut, and learned about what the Egyptians thought happened to King Tut in the afterlife.
I like homeschooling because of the flexibility. I get to see my friends a lot.
