MARQUETTE — Peter White Public Library has announced its Dec. 1-8 events and activities for children and adults:

Wings of Fire

Thursday, Dec. 1, 4:30-5:30 p.m. Peter White Public Library Great Room. Calling all Wings of Fire fans in 4-6 grade. This month we will spend some time drawing dragons and using our designs to create some dragon-themed ornaments. No admission charge. LEGO Club

Fridays, Dec. 2, 9, 16. 4-5 p.m. Peter White Public Library Great Room. Meet other LEGO enthusiasts and build LEGO projects with the library’s LEGO blocks. Winter Wonderland Walk

Winter Wonderland Walk Celebration

Saturday, Dec. 3, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Peter White Public Library. Teens, Family, Adults, Seniors. A celebration of the holiday-favorite Winter Wonderland Walk. In the Community Room, area piano teachers and students present holiday recital concerts every hour, starting at 11 a.m. Christmas carols by musicians Shay and Linda in the Huron Mountain Gallery, with hot chocolate and homemade cookies for Wonderland revelers. Craft Magic Series: Felt Magic with Jody Trost

Monday, Dec. 5, 6:30-8 p.m. Peter White Public Library Shiras Room. Family, Adults, Seniors. Join felt artist Jody Trost for a Beginner Needle Felted Workshop. Learn basic needle felting and leave with your very own handmade felted Santa. Felting starter kits and wool provided. Please bring a small pair of scissors. Tasty Reads

Tuesday, Dec. 6, noon-1:30 pm. Peter White Public Library, Shiras Room. A book group for readers, who love to cook. Each month we will discuss a book and share our cooking adventures inspired by the month’s book. Participants are encouraged, but not required, to come with food to share. This month’s book is “The Official Downton Abbey Afternoon Tea Cookbook: Teatime Drinks, Scones, Savories, and Sweets.” No admission charge. Meditate Marquette

Tuesdays Dec. 6, 13, 20, 27. 5:30-7 p.m. Peter White Public Library Lion’s Room. Meditate Marquette and PWPL have joined together to provide a weekly in-person mindfulness meditation program. Instructional sessions will be held from 5:30-5:50pm for those who would like to learn how to meditate, have questions about meditation, or need guidance on their practice. Starting at 6 p.m. the host will lead the group through one or more guided meditations, walking meditation, or invite everyone to sit in mindful stillness. One may practice meditation or prayer of choice during these practices. All welcome regardless of skill level or spiritual affiliation.
