Volunteers needed for dinner

MARQUETTE - Sponsors are still needed for the Night of 5,000 Dinners: Feed the Need Fundraiser for Meals on Wheels.This event is set for Nov. 10 at the Lost Creek Community Center in Marquette. A Harvest Dinner will take place beginning at 5:30 p.m. The menu will feature local meats and vegetables and a dessert bar.Entertainment will be provided by local musicians.Tickets are $50. MARQUETTE - Matamba, Tanzania, is far from Marquette. Alzheimer’s group to stage walk

MARQUETTE - The Alzheimer's Association - Greater Michigan Chapter will host its annual "Walk to End Alzheimer's" Sept. 24 at the Jacobetti Complex in Marquette.Registration for the 2-mile walk will begin at 9 a.m., followed by a 10 a.m. ceremony and 10:30 a.m. start.The chapter will host additional walks throughout the state through Oct. 1.More than 600 communities in the nation take part in the "Walk to End Alzheimer's," which is the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research.Registration is required and while there is no participation ...
