ST. IGNACE — A two-vehicle crash on US 2 near St. Ignace on Sunday resulted in one driver suffering serious injuries and a vehicle catching fire after crashing into a car wash. At approximately 5:51 p.m. Sunday, troopers from the Michigan State Police post in St. Ignace responded to a crash on US 2 near Boulevard Drive. UPPCO: Fishing platform at Dam 3 closed after weekend damage

MARQUETTE – Upper Peninsula Power Company has temporarily closed the public fishing platform at Dam 3 Reservoir on the Escanaba River after the platform sustained damage over the weekend, according to an UPPCO press release. The closure is limited to the fishing platform and does not affect operation of the hydroelectric facility. The wooden fishing platform sustained structural damage over the weekend and has been determined unsafe for public use. UPPCO is assessing the extent of the damage and developing a repair plan. SKANDIA — Personnel from the Marquette County Sheriff's Office are investigating the cause of a two-vehicle crash that took place Sunday afternoon. According to a sheriff's office press release, a pick-up truck was traveling west on M-94 in Skandia Township when it collided with a motorcycle, which was southbound on US 41.
