Marquette BMX names season points winners

MARQUETTE — Marquette BMX finished up its track points racing for the season at the end of August.

Champions included Chase Waters in the Class division, Doug Pennala in Cruiser, Kaylin Link for Girls, Dominik Horvath in Balance Bike and Lucas Basal for Pit Bike.

In addition, five riders from the track traveled to downstate Rockford for the USA BMX state championships on the weekend of Aug. 18-20.

Chase Waters, Michael Noble and Lucas Basal finished third in their division, while Luc Gervais and Jake Gervais each came in fourth. Jake Gervais added a third-place in the cruiser class.

Noble also was champion in the 19-27 Expert class, Basal finished third in 11 Expert and Waters was third in 12 Expert.

The track is holding Thursday races throughout this month.

On Sept. 7, three riders classifieds as experts all won races — Cole Goedert, Luc Gervais and Michael Noble.
