Northern Michigan University Wildcats drop lacrosse exhibition at home to Albion, 16-13

MARQUETTE -- The Northern Michigan University women's lacrosse team began its second season by falling to Albion College 16-13 in an exhibition game at the Superior Dome in Marquette.

NMU sophomore Graison Ringlever scored seven goals and added an assist, also leading the team in draw controls with nine. Freshman teammate Bianca Kinder chipped in with four goals.

Northern senior Danielle Grzeskowiak led the team with four ground balls and caused two turnovers. In goal, freshman Emily Karbaum posted 18 saves in her NMU debut.

Northern led 8-6 after a back-and-forth first half before Albion took the lead with a early second-half flurry and never allowed the Wildcats to lead again.

The Wildcats' first regular-season game is Saturday against Wheeling Jesuit and will be played at Detroit Country Day High School in downstate Beverly Hills.
