Heroic former shelter dog Peanut honored

Rescue dog and local hero, Peanut, was honored at the Delta Animal Shelter in Escanaba Wednesday for rescuing a 3-year-old girl who was found by the dog and her owner unclothed and cold in a ditch in Rapid River in March. During the celebration, residents and visitors alike had the chance to meet the courageous canine and her owners. Cake and refreshments were also served.
