MARQUETTE – No less than a dozen Marquette firms participated in the building and equipment of the First National Bank & Trust company's new building, the bank's policy being to purchase material, supplies and equipment locally and to use local labor as far as possible. The part which Marquette business houses and workmen have had in the erection of the new structure will give it added "local interest." Furthermore, the "building stands as proof that it is unnecessary to go outside of Marquette to buy the best the market affords in almost any line." Following are the firms or individuals who had a hand in the building or equipment of the bank: F.B. Spear & Sons - cement; N.G. Dellaas - brick; Marquette builders' supply - lumber; U.P. Office Supply company - furniture and office fixtures; Rhen Studios - hangings and rugs; Stenglein Bindery - steel shelving and vault equipment; Kennedy Automatic Service - heating equipment; Howard Murnant - plumbing and heating installation; H.H. Pellow - roofing; Washington Street Electric Shop - wiring and electric fixtures; Melvin Jensen - plastering; Flanigan Brothers - hauling and draying; Campbell Brothers - sand and teaming.
