Holy work (Photo feature)

A construction worker from American International Construction prepares a terra-cotta dome on one of the towers of St. Peter Cathedral in Marquette to be sealed. Tim Presley, maintenance supervisor at St. Peter, said the project is part of a three-phase restoration effort to rehabilitate and maintain the church bell towers. “Our first phase is sealing the domes, excluding any water from coming in in the upcoming winter season,” Presley said. “They are also doing a lot of diagnostic to prepare for work to be performed in the next year.” Presley said although work on the towers will be conducted over the next year or so, this phase of the project should be done by the end of next week.
