Socks are rocked
St. Vincent de Paul store takes delivery from Marquette Alternative High School

Eleven Marquette Area Public schools, including St. Christopher's Preschool, and four local businesses were involved in collecting the socks, which were gifted to to organizations like the Society of St. Vincent DePaul, the Salvation Army, and the Beacon House. "What I enjoyed most about [Rock the Socks] was helping the less fortunate of the community," said Vandenboom student Jake Smith. His teacher, Cindy DePetro, not pictured, added "It's not a competition of which school or organization could collect the most socks, but a collaboration of how we can make the greatest impact on our community."
