Preschool screening in Negaunee
NEGAUNEE -- Free preschool screening for Negaunee residents who have children who will be 3 or 4 years old by Sept. 1 is being offered Thursday and Friday by the Negaunee Public Schools.
The screening will take place at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Negaunee. Call to schedule an appointment with CAAM at 906-228-6522 or 1-800-562-9762.

Fish fry at Little Lake Legion
LITTLE LAKE -- American Legion Post 349 in Little Lake will have a fish fry from 4-7 p.m. Friday.
The choices on the menu are walleye, whitefish (baked or fried), perch, cod (baked or fried), 21-piece shrimp, fantail shrimp or a combo fish platter. All these dinners include french fries or baked potato, coleslaw and roll.
Non-fish choices are chicken strips and fries or hamburger and fries.

Marquette Legion hosting fish fry
MARQUETTE -- American Legion Post 44 Fish Fry will be at the post, 700 W. Bluff St., Marquette, from 5-7 p.m. Friday.
On the menu, a choice of whitefish, shrimp or chicken strips as well as a choice of baked potato or french fries. All meals include salad bar.
This meal is open to the public.
NAMI to meet Monday
MARQUETTE -- The National Alliance on Mental Illness-Alger/Marquette offers free, confidential peer support groups and educational meetings for individuals living with mental illness, and friends or families living with an individual with mental illness.
A support group will gather at 7 p.m. Monday in the Baraga Place Conference Room, 129 W. Baraga Ave., Marquette.
