Slattery promoted at Range Bank
MARQUETTE -- Range Bank recently announced the promotion of Scott Slattery to the position of trust and wealth management officer.
"This promotion recognizes Scott's experience, professionalism, and dedication to the needs of his valued clients," Jack Frost, senior vice president of trust and wealth management at Range Bank.
Slattery is a graduate of Northern Michigan University where he earned his bachelor's degree in accounting. He retired from the United States Marine Corps after 20 years of service in 2011 and has been an employee of Range Bank since 2014.
"Having already gone through the process of planning my own retirement from the United States Marine Corps and career change, I have first-hand experience with the financial considerations and time management goals needed to achieve a fulfilling retirement," Slattery said.
Within the community, Slattery is an American Legion Post 44 member and a volunteer at D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans. He and his wife and family reside in Marquette.

TruNorth awards $2,000 to clients
ISHPEMING -- Sandra R. of Ishpeming, Joel L. of Michigamme and Hugo S. of Marquette are the latest members of TruNorth Federal Credit Union to be awarded for their participation in the prize-linked savings program, Save to Win.
For each $25 deposited, members are entered in to a monthly drawing, with quarterly prizes of up to $5,000. Members can withdraw their savings account throughout the entire month of January.
Joel walked away $1,000 richer, saying, "I never expected to win anything!" Both Sandra and Hugo won $500 in the prize's central drawing.
The savings tool was designed to appeal to credit union members who are not in the habit of saving and those considered financially vulnerable.
Of the accountholders surveyed in 2015, approximately 90 percent were considered financially vulnerable, or those rated as low-to-moderate income, asset poor or non-saver.
