The Iron Mountain Music Jams are held the last Saturday of the month at the Crystal Lake Senior Center from 1-4 p.m. This is an acoustic jam and welcomes players from all levels. There is no fee and listeners are welcome. The upcoming jams will be Friday.

Every second Tuesday of each month -- The Marquette Arts and Culture Center will host its Gallery Tour at 12:30 p.m. at the center, located at the Peter White Public Library. The Arts and Culture Center Manager Tiina Harris will guide guests on a free tour of the SmallWorks and Main Gallery. Everyone is invited.

Aug. 29- Sept 1 -- Lake Superior Theatre presents Cabaret "Magic to Do."
Tickets are now on sale. All performances start at 7:30 p.m.
The theatre offers a waterfront lobby view, sound system, auditorium seats, new risers for improved views nd a new lighting system.

Sept. 19, Ore Dock Brewing Company -- Dollar-A-Day Boys, a musical tribute to the Civilian Conservation Corps featuring Bill Jamerson, 7:30 p.m., free admission. The Beaumier Center at Northern Michigan University, along with the One Book One Community group, present an evening of songs and stories about the Civilian Conservation Corps featuring Bill Jamerson.

Sept. 30, French Canadian Walking Tour at 1 p.m., free and open to the public. As part of the State of Michigan’s official French Canadian Heritage Week, the Beaumier Center will be offering a French Canadian history walking tour of Marquette. Daniel Truckey, Director of the Beaumier Center and a fifth generation Marquette resident, will give this extensive walking tour of the city’s many French Canadian landmarks and neighborhoods.
The tour will begin at the corner of Fourth and Washington streets and the tour will be about 1.5 miles long with some short uphills and downhills. Make sure to bring sturdy walking shoes and also rain gear if necessary.
