MDOT meeting in Bergland

ISHPEMING — The Michigan Department of Transportation invites the public to a meeting regarding a planned 2024 project on M-28 from Bergland to Ewen in Ontonagon County at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

During this meeting, there will be a brief presentation followed by a question-and-answer session. Community stakeholders, local businesses, interested residents and MDOT staff can attend the meeting at Bergland Township Hall, 101 Pine St., Bergland.

In 2024, MDOT plans to crush and shape the existing asphalt pavement and resurface about 14 miles of M-28 from Bergland to Ewen in Ontonagon County. As part of the project, MDOT is proposing reconfiguring the four-lane section of M-28 in Bergland to three lanes, which will include one lane in each direction, a center left-turn lane, and paved shoulders. The four- to three-lane reconfiguration will be the primary focus of this public meeting.
