AAUW collecting used books

MARQUETTE — Start setting aside used books now, to help fund scholarships for women.

The Marquette Branch of the American Association of University Women annually offers scholarships to women to help further their studies.

Funding for these scholarships is dependent on proceeds from the AAUW’s annual used book sale, this year scheduled for April 25-27. The sale, in turn, depends on contributions of used books from the whole community.

Beginning March 11, donated books may be dropped off at any of four Marquette locations: Marquette Community Credit Union, 1230 W. Washington; UP Medical Center, 1414 W. Fair (main entrance near information desk); River Valley Bank, 1101 N. Third; and the First Presbyterian Church (Bluff Street entrance.)

For more information or for special arrangements for large-quantity donations, phone Pat at 250-5392 or Jackie at 250-6170.
