PETOSKEY — After getting dealt a tough loss on a late shot by Brighton Friday, the Marquette girls basketball team got back on the right track Saturday afternoon as the Redettes topped Petoskey 46-14 at the Petoskey Invitational.

Avery Ledy led Marquette with 17 points, while Sydney Kivi had 12 points and 11 rebounds.

The Redettes held Petoskey to just two points in the first half and led 36-9 at the end of the third quarter in a strong defensive performance.

“It was nice to bounce back after a tough loss last night,” Marquette head coach Ben Smith said. “Avery finished well inside and she made the All-Tournament Team. Sydney had a nice day and Madison (Carter) and Kayley (Elmblad) helped out on the boards, which was nice to see.

“Aspen (Michelin) also played a solid floor game.”

The Redettes host Negaunee at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.
