Redmen icers play to scoreless tie

CHELSEA — In what might’ve been mistaken for an English Premier League soccer score, the Marquette Senior High School hockey team played to a scoreless draw against Davison on Saturday to conclude its run at the Michigan Public Schools High School Hockey Showcase.
“We put out a good effort, we played hard and so did they,” MSHS coach Doug Garrow, who added that while his team played late Friday afternoon, Davison didn’t have a game on Friday.
“We finally got our legs under us by the third period. They jumped out on us early, but (Redmen goaltender) Dylan (Sibilsky) played a good game.”
Sibilsky made 20 saves while his Marquette skaters in front of him forced Davison netminder Dominic Wendel to make 25 saves.
The Redmen (11-8-2), who played three games in about 36 hours at the Showcase, travel to Hancock for a game at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
