Marquette, Westwood volleyball teams each win 5-setters

By Journal Sports Staff

MARQUETTE — With district tournaments barely a week away, Marquette got a severe test that may help the Redettes down the road on Thursday night.

MSHS beat Kingsford in five sets, 24-26, 25-22, 22-25, 25-22, 15-10.

“It was a great atmosphere on Kingsford’s senior night with a loud and intense gym,” Marquette head coach Mike Morgan said. “These are the type of efforts that will help prepare us for districts.”

Aspen Michelin led the Redettes with 13 kills and seven service aces.
