NMU 4X400 relay team sets new school record for second straight week

By Journal Sports Staff

HILLSDALE — The Northern Michigan University women’s 4X400 meter relay team broke another program record Saturday afternoon.

The Wildcats took first in the event at the Gina Relays with a new NMU record time of 3:46.9.

The team is made up of senior and former Marquette Redette Shayla Huebner, fellow senior Paige Dutcher, and juniors Paige Du Bois and Sydney McPeters. The time is also an NCAA Division II Provisional mark.

This is the second straight week that the 4X400 team set a school record as Huebner, Dutcher, McPeters and Escanaba native Lynsey Collins did so at the Al Owens Classic last week.

Northern will compete in the GLIAC Championships May 1-3 at Grand Valley State.
